Samuel M. Leaf, Esq.

Since 1997, Mr. Leaf has represented corporations and individuals before state and federal courts and other tribunals in a variety of litigation matters. His practice focuses commercial litigation matters, media and First Amendment, complex insurance coverage disputes, internal investigations, employment matters, and providing litigation risk counseling.

Sam has litigated numerous matters on behalf of publishers, broadcasters and other media entities, including defamation actions, privacy torts, intellectual property disputes and press access matters.  Sam also has extensive litigation experience in commercial matters, including contract disputes, alter ego and successor liability actions, veil piercing and fraudulent transfer claims, insurance coverage and toxic tort actions, shareholder disputes, corporate dissolution claims, breach of contract actions, and other business disputes.

Sam has spent the majority of his career with midtown Manhattan law firms, working on complex litigation matters for Fortune 500 companies, media outlets, and hedge fund and private equity clients.

Sam graduated Brooklyn Law School (cum laude) in 1997, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Brooklyn Law Review.  He received his BA from Kenyon College in 1989, where he ran track and cross country.

Sam has offices in Manhattan and Westport, Connecticut, where he and his wife raised their three children
